Sparks, Florence-64 East Preston, passed away Thursday December 21th, 2018 at Northwood, Halifax. Born in East Preston, to the late Lawrence and Edna (Taylor) Sparks. Florence worked as a cook for a number of taverns in Dartmouth and as a personal care worker in her later years. Florence was a person who gave freely of herself to help her family and friends, taking care of her mother until her death. She will be sadly missed by all! Survived by her sisters, Daisy, Betty, Alma, Beverly (Basil); brothers, Lawrence “Henry”(Sarah), Harold (Gail), George (Paula); sisters in-laws Linda and Sylvia; several nieces and nephews; special friend Blair; and lifelong friends Ada, Elizabeth, Brenda, Regina B and Regina J . She was predeceased by paternal grandparents, William and Bertha Sparks, maternal grandparents, George and Lavinia Taylor; brothers, Murray, Fredrick, Cecil, Michael and sister Connie. There will be no visitation, Funeral service will be December 29th 1pm at Donald Walker’s Funeral Home, 307 Prince Albert Rd. , Dartmouth with Rev. Stewart Williams officiating. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia. Special thanks to the staff of Northwood 2nd floor for the care they provided.
