Obituary for Paul Marshall Deveau

Paul Marshall Deveau, 68, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Paul was born June 3rd, 1949 to Melvin and Gloria (Kearney) Deveau in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, the oldest of 6 children. He graduated from Prince Andrew High School in 1967.
Paul met his beautiful, late wife, Jennifer Ann Murphy, in high school and they married in 1969 in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Jennifer passed away in 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer.
In the late 1980’s Paul began a long career as a licensed Land Surveyor. After studying at the Nova Scotia Land Survey Institute in Lawrencetown Nova Scotia, Paul worked for Thompson Conn and Associates more than 30 years, until his retirement in 2015. Paul loved to spend time with his family and friends. He was an avid wood worker in his spare time, and crafted many beautiful things.
Paul is survived by his mother Gloria; sons, Noel and Luke; grandchildren, Brandon and Logan; brothers, Bruce, Mark, and Kevin; his sister, Gail; cousin, Rick, and numerous nieces and nephews. Paul was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Peter.
A private celebration of Paul’s life is to be held by his family, following the cremation of his remains. All interested parties may contact Paul’s youngest son Luke for details of where and when the family will be meeting (
As per Paul’s, and his late wife, Jennifer’s wishes, their ashes will be mingled and spread upon a spot of their choosing, to rejoin the natural world. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the charitable foundation of your choice, in Paul’s name.
