Obituary For Rawleigh Oscar White

White, Rawleigh Oscar (84) Noel, Hants Co. passed away peacefully on October 17th, 2018 at High Crest Nursing Home, Springhill. He was born in White Settlement, NS and was the son of the late James and Floreda (Ettinger) White. He was a Member and Elder of the Noel United Church and was a Volunteer Fireman for over 25 years with the Noel & District Fire Dept. He ran his own business for over 30 years, Parks Electric Repairs and when he semi-retired he drove a school bus transporting the students, who he loved to Hants North Rural High. He was an avid sportsman and outdoorsman. He had a great love for his hunting camp in the West Woods, he loved to hunt, fish and snowmobile. He took part in all games such as darts, cards, washers, golfing and especially horseshoes. He played ball with the Noel Road Braves and the National Old Timers League. Dancing every Saturday night was a must, especially to do the hop polka. He belonged to the Cobequid Twirlers in Bible Hill and even took a go at clogging. He and his beloved wife, Myrtle loved to go camping; following old time music festivals as well as having a seasonal trailer at Evangeline Beach for over 20 years. They travelled many years to Florida where they spent their winters. Dad had a great sense of humor and took part in many skits for variety shows right beside our Mother. He was known as the “man of many faces” as his mask collection grew each year and for his “invisible” dog that he picked up at the Calgary Stampede.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Myrtle (Parks), Noel, a son Michael (Leese), Saint John, two daughters Jo-Anne (Donald) Dickson, Noel and Kimberley (William) Quilty, Bedford, 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren as well as a sister Emma (George) Crowe, Halifax. He was predeceased by a sister (Leola Anthony) and four brothers Gilbert, Elroy, Alfred and Bryce.

Our Father lived his life everyday with integrity and we could not ask for better parents then our Mom & Dad!

Cremation has taken place. No visitation or service by request. Private Family burial to take place at a later date.

The family cannot find the words to express how appreciative they are to the wonderful, dedicated care givers at High Crest Nursing Home who lovingly took care of our Dad for almost 10 years with his advanced Alzheimer’s. You are all special angels that help those who are not able to help themselves with the care and compassion that all loved ones deserve. Thank you! Online condolences can be sent via www.donaldkwalker.ca In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Noel United Church, Noel, NS, B0N 2C0

Dad, we will see you on the other side!
