Obituary for Robert "Bob" Bowser

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the death of Robert (Bob) Bowser, 70 of Lake Echo on Saturday, July 13, 2019. Bob was predeceased by his parents William and Beulah Bowser, stepfather John Ben Anstey and sister-in-law Glennis Bowser.

Bob was a kind and gentle soul and a devoted husband of 29 years. Bob loved animals, feeding birds was his priority every day rain or shine, he enjoyed a good game of pool and always looked forward to camping with his friends at Sunnyvale Campground and loved a good scotch.
Bob worked as a cook with the Navy on “The Bonnie” (he loved to cook a good scoff). He also worked as a painter in Alberta and Nova Scotia.

Bob is survived by his wife Elinor (Veitch), brother Norman, nephew Steven (Heather), niece Wendy (Roger), mother-in-law Ellie Veitch, sister-in-law’s Betty McGrath, Eileen Veitch, Catherine Veitch, brother-in-law’s Ron Veitch, Kevin (Judy) Veitch, Bob Martin and many nieces and nephews. Special relatives and friends Brian, Maxine, Jason Veitch and Dave & Debbie Rutz. He will be sadly missed by his feline companion Zsa Zsa.

Celebration of Life will be held at Dartmouth First Church of the Nazarene, 3 Henry Street at 11:00 a.m. Saturday July 20, 2019. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

So sorry to hear about the loss of your husband, Bob. Your stories about his sense of humor and his antics over the years demonstrated your love for him in the best possible way. We are so very saddened to hear of Bobs sudden passing. We could always count on Bob for a quick Hello in the morning as we rushed about, a smile and a positive outlook on the weather. Our children loved listening to Bob talking to his cat, Zsa Zsa proclaiming how 'silly' he is. He will be missed for those little things and much more. It was nothing short of a pleasure to have known him as a neighbor these passed five years. Our home is always open to you, Elinor. Bless you all.

Elinor: David and I will miss Bob immensely, the two of you are our dearest friends. The campground won't be the same without his laughs, and trying to get me to love his country music! Will definitely miss our weekends of brunch and pool in the winter, too. A piece of us is missing with Bobby B gone. Our deepest thoughts and condolences. With love, Deb and Dave.

We have so many great memories of growing up with Bob in Imperoyal. Bob was very friendly and outgoing and loved to have a good time with friends and family. Like Norman, he was a great guy to get on the guitar at a party. We could always get him to start a song but he had a terrible time finishing it because he was more interested in chatting and "carrying on". Sadly, we have not seen Bob for a long number of years but we thought and talked of him often. Our sincere condolences to Norman and Elinor and please know our thoughts and prayers are with you. Sincerely, John and Heather (Tait) Keating.
