Obituaries

Age 84, passed away peacefully in Dartmouth General Hospital on July 5, 2017. A proud Newfoundlander who came to Nova Scotia as a young man, but never forgot his roots. He was a son of the late Charlie Thorne (Burnt Island N.L.) and Mary Thorne (Breyo). He was predeceased by his wife, Freda; sisters, Lucy, Phyllis, and grandson, Gordon Hering. He will be fondly remembered by his sister, Geraldine; step-daughter, Stacia; son-in-law, Ted; granddaughters, Shelly (Daniel), Sandra; great-grandchildren, Alicia (Gerard), Kelsey, and all of his nieces and nephews. The family would like to give special thanks to all the staff at Dartmouth General Hospital, who took such great care of Bill while he was there. A celebration of his life will take place at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 10th, in Donald K. Walker Funeral Directors Ltd., 307 Prince Albert Road, Dartmouth.
