Obituary For John (Jack) Frederick Casey
Passed peacefully Tuesday, 30 March 2021. Born 15 October 1942, eldest son of Gerald F. & Phyllis D. (Bishop) Casey, Jack grew up on Connaught Ave. Overlooking the original Halifax airfield, as a youth he would cross the remnants of the old air base on route to St. Agnes School , which started his life-long interest in military history. As a teen, attending St Patrick’s High School, Jack was a member of Air Cadets. Being a ‘people person’ he couriered medical needs for the pharmacies in metro to the house bound individuals that needed this vital service. Never a kinder soul, above all else, Jack enjoyed meeting and making new acquaintances, including the Sunday flea markets, with his partner for life, wife CarolynAnne - a matched set if there ever was one. For the past two years Jack resided in Northwood Manor, where he enjoyed socializing under the watchful eye of the staff who cared for him so well and whose efforts are greatly appreciated. Loved by his many nieces and nephews, cousins, Jack is survived by wife CarolynAnne (MacBean), brother Gerry Casey (Cathy) and sister Julie Walker (John). He is now in his final resting place. There will be no services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Souls Harbour Rescue Mission. “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” (Matthew 5:8)
