Obituary For Albin "Ab" Joseph Cheverie

Albin “Ab” Joseph Cheverie – 58 of Dartmouth passed away peacefully at the Victoria General Hospital on May 1st with his wife by his side after a short battle with cancer.

Ab was born in Souris, PEI to the late Cora and Albert “Buddy” Cheverie. He will be forever missed by his wife Cheryl Jennings and his children Kathy Porter (Glen), Jason Porter (Victoria) and Crystal Estabrooks. As well as his fur babies Paco & Mama. He had so much love for his grandchildren Aimee, Baiden & Brighton (Porter) and Tyson & Dylan (Estabrooks). He will also be missed by his brothers David, Brian & Kerry and his sister Tracy as well as their spouses and many nieces and nephews.

Although Ab knew his wife’s name was Cheryl he never called her anything other than “Hunny” or “Hun”. They spent countless hours playing cards and games, together and with family & friends. They were each other’s greatest love, best friend, travel companion and partner in crime.

The other great love of his life was music, you could not stump him with a music trivia question. He also loved sports and was very competitive, he would even try to beat his own best time while doing laundry or running to the store. Ab loved to mountain bike and was known to travel inter-provincially on his bike. He played many sports when he was younger and later in life enjoyed walking, hiking, exploring and peeing in all the woods throughout the Maritimes, Ontario and Quebec.

Ab was known to have many opinions and expressed all of them freely. Whether you wanted him to or not. He was also a perfectionist and one of the hardest working people many had ever met. Seeing him work would either exhaust you or encourage you to try harder yourself. Ab loved his job at Neocon and appreciated how kind and thoughtful they all were to him and our family during one of the hardest times of our lives. The management and employees truly went above and beyond in every way imaginable. We cannot express how grateful we all are for these wonderful people.
