Obituary For Connie Irene Kaiser (MacKinnon)

Age 57. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Connie Kaiser on Monday, May 21, 2018, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, in Halifax after a lengthy illness. The seventh of seven children, she was the daughter to the late Jack and Loretta MacKinnon and was born in Sydney Mines. Connie was a graduate of Acadia University, and the Nova Scotia Institute of Technology. She began her career at System House, and then on to Workers Compensation Board and more recently she provided care to senior through assisted living. She loved relaxing by the pool with friends and family, the fall Nova Scotian colours and weather, and all things seafood. Connie enjoyed walking the salt marsh trails with her husband Peter and was overjoyed to have recently become a grandmother. She will be remembered lovingly by her husband of 30 years, Peter; her children, Claire and Colin (Laura); her granddaughter, Charlotte; sisters, Norma (Eric), Judy (Paul), Heather and Joyce (Bill), and brother, Al (Ruth). Connie was preceded in death by her brother, Dan and his wife, Donna. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Donald K. Walker Funeral Directors Ltd., in Dartmouth. My favourite storey about Connie was the one she told about her father saying, ' Why don't you run away Connie ? I'll give you a drive as far as the Lick a Chick in Hawksbury ' He liked to tease her. Now she's gone even if she never did run away. Lots of memories go with her.
