Obituary For Geraldine (Jean) Marie Clorey

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Geraldine Marie Clorey (Jean) on Oct 5th at home, age 93. Some of Jeans favourite things to do were making beautiful quilts, knitting, crocheting, dancing, driving large cars, playing cards. She was so full of energy. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren would say she had a passion for baking but maybe it really was their passion for eating Nans goodies. Jean also loved to spend as much time as possible with her love Simon. Spending many hours gardening, dancing or walking along the beach. They were a perfect match. She was a beautiful soul.

Survived by sons Alan Saulnier & Dana Saulnier; daughters Dale Jones & Sharon Gendron; Daughter in law Judy Saulnier; Sisters Dorothy Deveau & Marie Boudreau; brother Stanley Doucette; grandchildren, great & great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph Simon Clorey, the love of her life; mother and father Helen and Peter Doucette; son Robert Saulnier; brother Bernard Doucette; first husband Benoit Saulnier.

A Special thank you to her son Alan and her best friends Ann and Leon Beaver. For taking such great care of her over the years. She loved you all very much. Gone to be with her Lord. Rest in peace beautiful Lady.

Dear Alan and family. I was so saddened to hear of your Mom’s passing. She called me when I had each of my children, and called me when my daughter Kristina passed away. I always loved hearing her voice on the other end of the phone. Since I was a little girl she always had a way of making me feel so special. My son passed away two years ago and when my Aunt Dorothy told your Mom, she asked for her to send me her love and prayers. Your Mom touched my life in so many ways!! I’m so glad you got to spend these last years with your Mom. Thank you Alan. My love to you and family. Dorothy Doucette from Harrietsville Ontario.

My condolence to your family. I remember going to my parents cottage(Harry and Marie Burgess) next door to Mr. and Mrs.Clorey on Hawkey Island in Chezzencook (now known as Fisherman's Reserve). Mrs. Clorey would come over in the afternoon and have tea and sweets with my mom as dad and Mr.Clorey would be in the yard talking about Mr. Cloreys' garden. When I got married they gave me a fireplace lamp that was made out of the shells they gathered on the beach surrounding our properties. It was beautifully handcrafted. I still have that lamp today after 29 years. Mr. and Mrs. Clorey were both very kind caring people. We were all very lucky to have had them in our lives.
