Obituary For Gordon Clarke Norman

Norman, Gordon Clarke age 67 of Lower Sackville passed away peacefully on January 1st at the VG Hospital, Palliative Care Unit. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Leo and Kay Norman (Lewis). Gordy is survived by his loving partner Wendy (Beauvais) and children Michael/”Mike the Spike” (Mari), Debra/”George”, Kari/”CareBear” (Derek), their mother Betty/”Blubber Guts”, Krystal/”Super Tubby”, Kayla/”Goober Guts” (Dustin) and his step-children, Tammy (Ken), Billy (Anne-Marie), their mother Dinah/Dine and special daughter Lisa (Adam). He is also survived by his brothers Steve (Louise), Paul (Cheryl), sisters Cathy (David), Nancy (John) and his Aunt Florence. He is lovingly cherished by his 11, soon to be 12, Grandchildren and 2 Great-Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Gordy was predeceased by many aunts, uncles and friends, including Aunt Jane with whom he always had a special bond. Gordy had many life-long friends including best friends Prince and Julio Iglesius McNorman III.

Gordy loved music, nature, fishing, falling out of boats, digging for bugs, getting lost in the woods, looking for deer and was the Pied Piper of ducks. He loved to tell stories, whether they were true or not and always took pride in fooling people and “Thats' a fact”. Gordy will be greatly missed by all who knew him but will remain forever in our hearts. Gordy was a long time member of the Sackville Lions Club and the family would like to say a very special thank you to all the members for their help and support.

The family would like to say a special thank you to those who supported him through his journey over the last couple of years, especially his oncology nurse Wavey and Bronwen who took special care of Dad/Gordy in his last days/hours.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, January 11th at 2pm at the Sackville Lions Club. We will be doing a toast to Gordy at 3pm. Cremation has taken place and a private burial will happen at a later date.

“You'll be free at the end of my farewell party, but I'll go away loving you.”
