Obituary For Harriet "Hattie" G. Rutledge

RUTLEDGE, HARRIET G. “HATTIE” Age 93 of Halifax, passed away peacefully Nov. 15th in the Halifax Infirmary – QE11. Born in Ingonish NS as was both her parents, she was the daughter of the late Purves and Letitia (Brewer) Stockley . She is survived by her son Greg (Donna) Dartmouth, daughters Heather, Halifax and Leanne (Charles) Burchell, Aspen NS. Sister Shirley (Albert) Lewis, Sydney, NS. Grandchildren Tyler and Tara Rutledge both of Dartmouth, Mimi Murray and Chico Francis both of Halifax along with 6 Great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband Eric, brothers Clifford, Wesley and Tom. Special thanks to Sharon and Pat Duffy, Janet Hallett, Donna Jackson, Kaye Vincent and Chris Young whose friendship, contact and visits greatly contributed to our Mom’s quality of life, especially in her later years. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral service in accordance with Mom’s wishes. Donations in memory of “Hattie” may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of NS.     I am so sorry to hear of Hattie's passing. I have fond memories of working with her when I first started out in my nursing carreer on 5A and 5Victoria. She manned the phones and ran the desk and kept everything running smoothy and efficiently. I have never forgotten her. My condolences to her family..

    So sorry to hear of "Little Hattie's" passing. She was a kind lady and I have many happy memories of time spent at her home. Hattie was very patient with a Moose and a Lizard who laughed a lot. Love Elizabeth
