Obituary For Kathleen Marie Sawler (Falle)

SAWLER (Falle) Kathleen Marie October 30, 1957- December 27th 2018

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Wife, Nanny, Sister, and Friend, Kathleen Marie Sawler (Falle) of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Kathy passed at home surrounded by her family. She was met in Heaven by her parents Betty Alice (Merry) and L. David Falle. Kathy used her fight with cancer to advocate for women and was an inspiration to us all. Kathy was a beautiful soul who was always caring for others. She actively worked to better her community making a 20+ year commitment to Girl Guides of Canada, going door to door for the Heart and Stroke foundation, working in the library at Notting Park Elementary, working with the Sunday Schools at both Our Savior and Resurrection Lutheran Churches. Along with all of these she was always ready to jump into any fund raising or help needed with all of her children’s many sports and activities. Kathy enjoyed various hobbies and was always busy. She loved working in her garden, crafting treasures, cheering on her children at numerous sporting events, decorating for every holiday, vacationing in the sun, listening to and enjoying music with her husband. Most of all she loved spending time with family and creating lasting memories. She was always there when you needed her, whether it was to give advice or just someone to chat with. To her last day she was putting others before herself. She will be profoundly missed. Kathy is survived by her husband of 41 years, Gordon Charles Sawler, her daughters Laurie and Rebecca, Her son James, his wife Laura and her two granddaughters Jordan and Hailey, her son Gordon and his wife Samantha, her Brother Kevin Falle, In-Laws James and Linda Sawler, Doug Sawler, Carol and Chip Murray, Vicki and Garth Faloon, and Michael Sawler, 15 nieces and nephews and countless cherished loved ones. Celebration of Life will take place on January 4th, 2019, 2pm at Resurrection Lutheran Church 2096 Windsor Street in Halifax Nova Scotia, reception to follow. Donations can be made in memorial to Banook District Girl Guides.

Condolences

I only just became aware of your passing, and I wanted to leave my deepest condolences for Laurie, Rebecca, Gordon, Gordie and Jamie. I lost both of my parents within six months of one another last year, so I realize how difficult it is, to lose those whom you love the most. I never really had a chance to tell you how much I appreciated the way you accepted me, free of judgement, despite the way I was introduced into your life. You were one of the kindest, most accepting, and friendly people I have ever known. The world is a lesser place without you. Kathy, you are truly missed. Again, thank you for everything.

To Gordon, Lauria, Rebecca, James, Gordon and family, our sincere condolences on Kathy's death. I knew her as a dedicated Guide leader in Dartmouth and was pleased to reconnect at Resurrection Lutheran from time to time, including a few weeks ago. She was a warm, lovely person who, like her mother Betty, gave of herself to improve the lives of others. Keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers. -Claire McIlveen and Edwin Head
