Obituary For Louise Theodora Samson

Age 87 - It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many, on Dec 4th, 2018 at the Strait Richmond Hospital, Lower River. Born in Arichat on February 1st 1931, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Florence (LeBlanc) Samson.

Theodora is survived by daughters Wanda (preceded Louis) Marchand, Boston; Carmella (Jr Colin) Samson, D'Escousse; sons Wayne Samson, Alderney Point; Blair (Geraldine) Samson, Poirierville; brother Ovide (Muriel) Samson, Alderney Point; sister and Godchild Palmire (John) Martell, Little Anse; grandchildren Jason Marchand, Sherry Callahan, Kalsey Samson, Amie Grant, April Samson, Crystal Kearney, Shayelle (Boudreau) Samson, Dante and Faith Samson; great grand-children Ayden, Kaylee, Dylan, Phoenix, Aria and Isaiah. She is preceded in death by her husband Melvin, daughter Dana (Gary), brother Medard and sisters Leta and Leonie.

Theodora was a kind, loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family meant the world to her. She enjoyed all family events and get-togethers, her daily phone calls with her sister Palmire and especially going to bingos. She had great Faith, in her daily prayers to God, Mary, St. Anne and all the Saints in Heaven, she named them all. We always knew when we needed help in any area, mom was only a prayer away. Her strength, courage, and belief was a blessing to all of us. We will forever miss her stories, her laughter but most of all the love she had for her family.

Cremation as taken place under the care of Evy Landry and Donald K. Walker Funeral Directors Ltd, Halifax. The Celebration of Life will take place in the Glen Sampson Memorial Room, Louisdale on Tuesday Dec 18th from 4-9pm. Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 19th at 11:00am in the St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Petit De Grat with Father Pierre Michelle officiating. Burial with follow in the Star of the Sea Cemetery. A reception will be held in the Petit De Grat Parish Hall following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Strait Richmond Hospital Palliative Care or a charity of your choice. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to all staff of the Palliative Care Unit, in particular Nancy Cameron, nurses, doctors, family and friends who visited throughout her battle with cancer. THANK YOU!

Dear family of Aunt Theodora I send my thoughts and prayers to all of you during this difficult time. Aunt Theodora was one special lady with an excellent sense of humour and a fierce love for her family and friends. I have many fond memories while growing up in Little Anse along with the beautiful memory of our visit last summer while I was back home on holidays. Keep the memories of good times close to your hearts and know that she is now at peace with Uncle Melvin and all the others who have gone before her Love Gail and family Calgary,Alberta

Doug and I offer our sincerest condolances for the passing of Aunt Theodora. I will forever remember our sleepovers, many meals and many Sunday Drives. She always treated me like a membor of the family and I loved spending time there with Carm. We were very often together and have wonderful childhood memories. Even as an adult, Aunt Theodora always greeted me with a smile and was always happy that you visited. May Jesus have mercy on all those who mourn her loss and may He walk with them through this difficult time. She was a wonderful woman and will be missed by many. May her soul repose in peace. I take solace in knowing that she is with Uncle Melvin, Dana, her Mom and Dad, Medard all of her family. Also knowing that she is now without pain. God Bless you all.
