Obituary For Reta Marie Kay

Kay, Reta Marie - 84, of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully at the Dartmouth General Hospital on Thursday, January 4th, 2018, after a courageous battle with dementia. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ whom she served faithfully throughout her whole life. Having been raised in a Christian home and attending the Full Gospel Church as a child and teenager. Her love for her Savior, and His Church, was the foundation of the home she and her late husband, David, established. She had a long career raising two sons and then a good many years working in a neighbourhood nursery school. She was born in Halifax, N.S. and was the daughter of the late John and Marjorie (Vass) Abbott. She was also predeceased by her brother Robert Abbott. She is survived by her loving sons, Richard (Janice), Moncton, N.B.; Brian (Sandie), Milton, ON; beloved Nana of Karen, Rhiannon and Keaundra. Cremation has taken place under the direction of J. Albert Walker and Sons Funeral Home (902-469-5601). A Celebration of Life will be held January 11th, 1 p.m in Hillside Wesleyan Church, Ritcey Campus, 50 Rictey Cres., Cole Harbour. A Reception will follow immediately after the service. There will be a brief committal service at Memorial Gardens, 767 Main St., Dartmouth, at about 3:30 p.m. Memorial Donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society Canada, Gideon Bible Society, or a charity of one's choice.
