Obituary For Robert "Bob" (Sam) Donald Fawson

Fawson, Robert “Bob” (Sam) Donald- 65, Dartmouth, NS passed away surrounded by family and friends on April 8,2018 at the Dartmouth General Hospital. Bob was born in Halifax, NS in 1953. He was the son of the late Robert James Fawson and Olive Eleanor Scallion (Fawson). He is survived by his beloved daughter Jody Lee Fawson , Hantsport. Sisters- “Rene” Frost, Sackville; Catherine (Alex) Ottawa; Carol Fawson, Edmonton; Mary Fawson, Ottawa; Patricia “Trish” (John) Munro, Timberlea; Barbara (Randy) Hoban, Uxbridge; Brothers-Percy, Sackville; Daniel “Danny” (Mary),Halifax; numerous nieces/nephews and great nieces/nephews. Bob was an employee of NS Power for over 20 years serving on their Joint Occupational Safety and Health Committee. Bob worked for the Corps of Commissionaires at Acadia University. He returned to school later in life becoming a Heavy Equipment Operator. He retired from work with Dexters. Believing in service to others, he was an active member of the NDP party and life-long Blood Donor. He was a fierce supporter and Community Activist for people with disabilities. He served on Parent Committees, and as a Board Member of Nova Scotia Association for Community Living (NSACL) and Support Services Group Co-Operative (SSG Co-op). He fought for inclusion on behalf of his daughter Jody, the light of his life. He was a generous and loyal friend to those in his neighborhood and will be missed greatly by friends in particular; Monica, Marjie, Donny, Vicki and Charmaine. Celebration of Life at the Sackville Lions Club,101 Old Beaverbank Road, Lower Sackville on Saturday April 21 from 4-9pm. Please join us for food, as well as refreshments available and music to follow. He will be memorialized at Mount Olivet Cemetery later at a private gathering. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Support Services Group Co-operative or a charity of your choice.

    My sincerest condolences to all of you. Our families had strong ties on Kaye Street and Bob was a particular friend of my mother, Margie (Wyman) Brown. I'm sorry we can't attend the celebration of life.
