Obituary For Willem "Bill" Zwaan

Zwaan, Willem (Bill) of Dartmouth passed peacefully into the presence of his Saviour and Lord, Jesus Christ on January 5, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Enkhuizen, Holland, Bill arrived in Canada in 1956 with his father Willem, Mother, Ytes, brothers Rudy, Epke, Andy and sister Wop. Bill was a school bus driver for over 43 years. Bill had a love for all things Christmas and a good home-cooked turkey. A devoted Christian, he served as a valued Member of the Worship Team and also as a Trustee for the Dartmouth First Church of the Nazarene. Bill is survived by wife Helene, sons Trevor (Casey), Peter and Stephen (Sarah) as well as his five grandchildren Thomas, Beckham, Cylar, Tessa and Scarlett. He is predeceased by his father Willem, mother Ytes, and brothers Rudy and Andy. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Donald K. Walker Funeral Directors. The Memorial Service will be held Friday, January 12 at 11:00 am at the Evangel Pentecostal Church located at 1412 Cole Harbour Road. Rev. Ralph G. Yarn, Senior Pastor of Dartmouth First Church of he Nazarene officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service. A Family interment will take place at a later date.
