Obituary For Charlaine Cecilia Hillier

It is with profound sadness that the family of Charlaine Cecilia Hillier (nee Chaisson), announce her peaceful passing at home in Dartmouth, NS on April 25th, 2023. She was predeceased by her parents Charles and Alma (Payne) Chaisson, and brother in law Ronald Strickland.

Charlaine will be dearly missed by her husband Brian Hillier, her sister Elsie Strickland, her loving children Troy Musseau, and Tanya (Jason) Godreau, her grandchildren LaRoux (Matthew) Musseau, Chloé Musseau, Sierra Godreau, and her nephew Daryl (Marie) Strickland, and special friend Shelley Greene. She is also loved and remembered by her large circle of friends and neighbourhood acquaintances.

Born in Channel-Port Aux Basques, NL, on Dec. 7th, 1945, where Charlaine grew up and lived until 2010 when the family relocated to Dartmouth so that everyone could be together.

A thoughtful soul who enjoyed cooking, gardening, caring for her home, listening to music, and going to concerts. She found great comfort in her friends and family but especially in the rare and incredible bond she had with her sister Elsie; where you saw one, you usually saw the other.

Charlaine was a beautiful person inside and out. Her smile could light up the whole room and she cared so deeply for the people around her. She was kind and compassionate; she made an impact on many lives.

She will be forever missed. Her family would like to thank the incredible people of the VON and Palliative Home Care Services. In keeping with Charlaine’s wishes, cremation has taken place, with an interment and a celebration of life to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Charlaine’s memory can be made to a charity of your choosing.

Always Loving, Always Loved.

    I'm hoping you find a measure of peace as you find your way through such a sudden & difficult loss. What comes to my mind most, when I think of Charlaine , is the pride she had for her family & her home..This always comes up in our many chats..She would often call out through the kitchen window while I was in the garden or we would catch up across the hedge or while touring the gardens which she & Elsie had worked into such a lovely place. She just really enjoyed life & it showed in all that she did.. My prayers go with you all. Kimberly { your friend }
