Obituary For Marion Patricia Andrews

Marion Patricia Andrews, 96, went to be with the Lord, passing away peacefully at her home with family present on Monday, October 26, 2020.

Originally from Ottawa, Marion was the eldest of nine siblings and daughter of the late Hector and Ella (ne. Harrison) Vallillee. She is survived by daughter Jennifer, son John, daughter-in-law Michelle, granddaughters Haley and Ella, and sisters Carol (Warren) and Sandra (Bob). Marion is predeceased by her loving husband of 54 years, Rev. Dennis Andrews, sisters Norma, Audrey and Margaret and brothers Charlie, Bernie and Wally.

Upon graduating from high school at the young age of 16, Marion worked as a secretary in local companies in the Ottawa area and later for Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship of Canada after committing her life to Christ in 1948. After marrying in 1964, Marion and Dennis served faithfully in parishes in Prince William, NB and then at Trinity Anglican Church in Halifax, NS for 23 years. During their retirement, Marion continued her commitment to ministering alongside Dennis in parishes in the Greater Toronto Area (St. Brides & St. Margaret’s) before returning to Halifax to rejoin the Trinity family.

Marion treasured the many joys offered by nature including camping and canoeing in her earlier years and also enjoyed gardening, feeding the birds, sunsets and having a fresh bouquet of flowers in her home. She found delight in spending time with her granddaughters, bible studies with women’s groups, music, laughter shared with family and playing cribbage. Marion will always be remembered fondly for her inexhaustible positiveness, caring and the ability to uplift and impact those around her.

The family would like to thank Dr. Lewis, Marion’s Palliative care team, Continuing Care, VON and Bayshore staff for all their commitment and support.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, no visitation is planned. A small funeral will be held at Trinity Anglican Church. To express condolences or share a memory please go to donaldkwalker.ca. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Anglican Church, Halifax, Overseas Missionary Fellowship or Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship of Canada.
