May 20, 2023 - It is with profound sadness the family of Matthew William James Armstrong "Matt" announces his passing on May 20, 2023 at the Dartmouth General Hospital surrounded by his loved ones. Matt was a loving and devoted husband and fur-father. A gentle giant in every form, he took his wit and good humour wherever he went. He loved watching WWE wrestling, a good round of golf, watching as well as playing curling, and to tinker with any vehicle or do any handyman project he felt he could. A passionate driver, Matt loved being out on his 4 wheeler and motorcycle. He loved getting out of bed taking in the old back roads on day trips with his wife, to their camp in Cape Breton, the Annapolis Valley, and Fundy New Brunswick. His love of animals was immense and extraordinary. Matt loved his work completely and thoroughly and put his whole heart into everything he did. Predeceased by his brother Marcus and paternal grandparents he will be survived by his loving wife Amanda, father William, sister Marianne (Thomas) and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to the Canadian Cancer Society. A celebration of life is being held on June 2, 2023 from 5-7 PM at 220 School street in Dartmouth - lower level with a private family service to follow.
