Obituary For Ronald James Harvey

The family of Ronald James Harvey are saddened to announce his unexpected passing on Sunday July 15 2023.

Born in Halifax, Ron was the son of the late Karl Harvey. He is survived by his mum Dorothy A Harvey, twin brother Donald (Sheila),brothers Michael (Donna),Wayne (Loretta), along with his six nieces and several great nieces/nephews.

Ron was a graduate of H.R.V.S. as an electrician and eventually retired from C.N. Rail.

He enjoyed playing golf with his buddies and could often be seen at the cottage driving golf balls into the ocean and waiting for low tide to collect them.

He also spent time at the cottage with his 4 legged furry buddy Kingston enjoying walks on the beach and took him everywhere, although Kingston belonged to his longtime friend Brittany. This companion was dearly missed by Ron when he passed.

He enjoyed driving trips across Canada stopping to visit friends and family along the way.

Ron worked on his own vehicles and often on those of others when help was needed. He was once driving his Dodge Dart along the Bi Hi when he spotted another Dart broken down. He stopped to help this American family who were on vacation and had a broken fan belt. He removed the belt of his own Dart and replaced their broken one to get them on their way home. They were so surprised at his generosity toward complete strangers knowing he would need to purchase another belt for himself. Ron explained that he lived a short distance away and was only too glad to help out.

For those who really knew and loved you Ron, you will be missed and always remembered.

No service or visitation will take place at Ron's request. A grave side gathering for family and closest friends will happen at a later date.

Donations in memory of Ron may be made at an animal shelter, such as 'Hope For Wildlife' Located at Seaforth NS 902-407-9453
