Obituary For Jean Lestina Gordon
Jean Lestina Gordon, age 86, of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, passed away on July 17, 2026. Born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Aulie and Mae MacEachern (MacKenzie).
Jean was the beloved wife for 69 years to Robert “Bob” Gordon. She was a loving mother to Karen Gordon Buckley of Hermans Island, NS; Robert “Rob” Gordon (Sarina Randall) of Guelph, ON; and Trevor Gordon (Susan), Dartmouth, NS. She was predeceased by her son, David (Scott) Gordon, and by her son-in-law, Michael Buckley.
She will be dearly remembered by her grandchildren, Allyson Buckley (Bruce Cameron), Dartmouth, NS; John Connor Buckley (Rossella Calvaruso), Fredericton, NB; Emily Gordon (Kyle Grieve), Toronto, ON; Hannah Gordon, Toronto, ON; Nicholas Gordon, Charlottetown, PE; and Joshua Folkins, Waterloo, ON.
She was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Makenzie Cameron, Bailey Cameron, and Lucy Grieve who she adored.
Jean is also survived by her siblings, June MacLean of Culpeper, Virginia; Barbara Thadani of Toronto, ON; Donna Hiltz of Guelph, ON; and Barry MacEachern. She was predeceased by her brothers, Jack MacEachern, Charles MacEachern and Gary MacEachern.
Jean was a life member of the Dartmouth Curling Club Day Ladies and enjoyed curling in several bonspiels throughout her life. She and Bob spent many years travelling to Florida during the winter months. They were fortunate to share those winters with lifelong friends from Dartmouth and cherished the many wonderful memories made there.
Jean’s family and friends will remember her with love and gratitude for the many ways she touched their lives. She was an amazing aunt to her nieces and nephews, who will fondly remember her, and an amazing grandmother and great-grandmother. She also shared many close friendships with so many people throughout her life.
Jean spent the last two years of her life at Oakwood Terrace in Dartmouth as she struggled with illness. Her family is deeply grateful for the amazing nursing care she received there and extends heartfelt thanks to the staff for their kindness and compassion.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Austenville Owl’s Club, 34 Oakdale Crescent, Dartmouth, on July 23, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
