Obituary For Madonna Catherine Kunzli (Henneberry)

In her 82nd year, Madonna passed away peacefully on September 3rd, at Arborstone Enhanced Care, Halifax NS, from Lewy Body Dementia. Born in Point May, Newfoundland, to Joseph and Matilda (Tilly) Henneberry.

Madonna was the beloved wife of Daniel Kunzli, with whom she shared a life full of love, partnership, and adventure. She was a devoted mother to her sons Stephen Kunzli and the late Robert “Bob” Kunzli, and a proud grandmother to Garrison Brown, David Kunzli, Robert White, and Stephen White. One of eleven children, Madonna grew up in a large and loving family. She was predeceased by her siblings Albert, Sarah, Gordon, Michael, and Elizabeth “Betty.” She is survived by Margaret Pettipas, Eric Henneberry, Joseph “Junior” Henneberry, Pat Henneberry, and David “Dino” Henneberry, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Madonna lived a life full of both dedication and joy. She worked as an executive assistant and administrative professional, became a savvy real estate owner, and embraced the activities she loved most. She enjoyed skiing, aquafit, card games, and bingo, and she never passed up the fun of a good yard sale, always on the lookout for hidden treasures. Her home was always warm and welcoming, and no one ever left her table hungry. She will be remembered for her sweet spirit, radiant humor, and quick wit; but above all for her kindness. Madonna had a gift for making everyone feel valued and included, and her rosy cheeks and the twinkle in her eyes carried a light that touched all who knew her. To know her was to know love itself.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Arborstone Enhanced Care, and a special thank you to all who visited her during her time on the 2nd floor. Her care team was welcoming, kind, and compassionate throughout the progression of her illness. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Donald K. Walker Funeral Home.

A celebration of life will be held at Golden Age Social Centre, 212 Herring Cove Rd, on October 4th 1-3pm. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society in her memory. In her honor, may we carry forward her love, warmth, and adventurous spirit in our own lives.
