Obituary For Marsha Towriss

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mom, Marsha Towriss, aged 77, daughter of the late Alphonse Comeau and Eva MacDougall on March 29, 2026. Marsha was a long time resident of Mount Uniacke, Nova Scotia but recently resided at the Berkeley in Halifax.

Marsha is survived by her husband and best friend of over 40 years, Leslie Towriss. She is also lovingly remembered by her two children: Tracy Jennings (Craig) and Darryll Jennings (Karen); as well as three step children: Jamie Towriss (Peggy), Doug Towriss (Sue) and Laurie Moxton (Marty) along with her 8 grandchildren and many great grandchildren, who she adored.

She shared an incredibly close and special bond with her four sisters: Sharon, Marlene, Cynthia and Cathy. She loved spending time with them and laughing until they cried (and sometimes more). You don’t want to be around when the cackle crew get together. She had great times.

Mom lived a full life. She was an avid camper and traveller that loved her road trips with her husband (oh and Aunt Sharon who loved to share their adventures) where they collected beach glass along the way and shared many memories together. Each piece a reminder of the trips they took. She did love her beach glass collection, oh and her Bailey’s too. As a youngster, she would frequent the Chicken Burger back in the day and go to April Wine concerts. I could say that she loved hiking and her veggies but that would be a lie. She was an amazing mom and person.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

I have very fond memories of Marsha from many years ago. As teenagers we loved the Firehall Dances and of course the bowling alley on Sundays. Parties at their house, playing our 45's and dancing in the livingroom. RIP Marsha. Deepest sympathy to everybody.
