Obituary For Terence Herald Skirten

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Terence Herald Skirten on June 6th, 2024 at the age of 74. Terry lived in Lower Sackville with his loving wife Janice and raised three amazing children.

Terry was a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He enjoyed driving his Ford Ranger to Dooly’s to play pool and “shoot the shit” with friends old and new. In his spare time Terry divided his energy between his passion and joys, which were many. Woodworking, watching “Corrie”, crosswords in the morning with a cup of coffee, antique and novelty hunting for special finds, spending time with family, Friday night pizza nights, and passing his knowledge onto his beloved grandkids. His involvement with the legion and volunteer service with Meals-on-Wheels gave him great joy and a closer connection to his community. Never shy to share a dirty joke or sarcastic comment, he brought a smile to the faces of many.

He served in the military from 1968-2001 in the medical field followed by 15 years in public service as a PMed Tech. His peacekeeping efforts brought him to many corners of the world and was an endless source of pride for his entire family.

He is survived by his loving wife Janice Skirten (Whitman), daughters Tania and Kimberley, son Tony, grandkids Mason, Dawson, Lucas and Kierann, brother Jim (Nancy), sister Cathy, nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his parents Harry and Agnes, and brother Alan.

He will be forever loved, always missed, and never forgotten. A celebration of life will be held June 14 from 2 to 5:30pm at his home 1349 Riverside Dr, Lower Sackville.
