Obituary For Florence M Robar

ROBAR, Florence M. – Dartmouth, age 87. It is with great sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Florence. She passed away peacefully in her sleep at Northwood, Halifax, on February 7, 2023. Florence was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and Aunt. Florence was born in Liverpool, Queens County. She moved to Halifax when she was seventeen and worked for Stadacona, until she was married. She worked for Dr. Graham Pace, then Woodlawn Medical Clinic, where she worked until she was 80. Florence enjoyed being surrounded by her family and friends. She would often take her children, nieces and nephews, and later on great-nieces and nephews to our cottage in Port Joli. Florence was active in her community and volunteered for the Heart and Stroke Foundation for over 50 years. She was an active member of Stephen’s Road United Baptist Church, where she served on numerous committees and attended services until she was no longer able. Florence is survived by her brother Jack (Charlotte) White, children Gregory, Cynthia, and Michael (Tracy) Robar, and her angel and grandson Devin, her nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, which are too many to name. She was pre-deceased by her husband Freddie, brother Maurice, and sisters Joan and Marion. The family would like to thank the staff of Northwood, 9 center, for the wonderful care they provided for her during her last year. A memorial service will be held at Stephen’s Road United Baptist Church, on Friday, February 17th at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations can be made to Stephen’s Road United Baptist Church.

Greg, Cindy and Mike I am so sorry to hear of your moms passing. I have many good memories of your mom growing up throughout my childhood. I remember the time she purchased one of her first cars. It was a Nash Metropolitan convertible. She took me for a drive and I thought I was on top of the world. Growing up we spent many years at you mom and dad's on Christmas Eve decorating the Christmas trees. Times at you parents place were always exciting. I thought they were one cool couple. Take care.

So sorry for your loss. I know you will all miss your Mom. I have fond memories of Aunt Florence, sleepovers at their apartment on Veith Street, times at the cabin in Port Jolie and lots of family dinners growing up. Thoughts and prayers are with you all. Linda Marsh
