Allan Wayne MacDonald, known to family and friends as Wayne, passed peacefully on November 18, 2025, at the age of 82. Born in Vancouver, BC, Wayne made Dartmouth, NS his home.
He is reunited with his parents, Helen and Allan MacDonald, and brother Kenneth MacDonald. Wayne’s memory will be carried forward by his wife MaDonna lovingly known as kitten, daughter Michelle MacDonald (Boo-boo), son Mike (Sambo) and daughter-in-law Dao MacDonald, granddaughters Meghan and Deya, sister Helene MacDonald Smith, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Wayne was a quiet pillar for everyone who knew him, always having the right words to fix everything. He gave his time freely and wholeheartedly even though he asked for so little himself. He loved being needed and he showed his love through presence, guidance, and unwavering patience.
A teacher, protector, provider, and leader; Wayne carried a dry sense of humor that was subtle but unforgettable. He found joy in music, especially through guitar and singing where he could express what he often kept unspoken. To his family, nothing was soft unless it was papa soft – a lasting reminder of his gentle heart beneath his quiet exterior.

Madonna and family, we were sorry to hear of Wayne's passing. We were neighbors and friends of the MacDonalds on "The Hill" when we were kids. It's been years since we saw you guys, probably at Albert & Bonnie's 50th anniversary. There are times when the right words just don't exist, we hope it will help you a little to know how much we are thinking of you and your family. Sincere condolences Dave & Wendy (Gorrie) MacPhee

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Uncle Wayne. He will always be remembered for his gentle, soft-spoken nature, the warm smile he greeted us with on every visit, and the tremendous love he held for his family. I cherish the memories of sleepovers at their house when I was young, the musical jam sessions, the laughter, and the countless family gatherings where he made everyone feel welcomed and at home. I take comfort in knowing this isn't a final goodbye, but rather a "see you later." Until we meet again, you will be truly missed. With all our love, Tammy and Madison Purcell

My dear brother-in-law so bravely and peacefully said, "Its time for me to go, I've reached the end of the road." He wanted us all to know we were dearly loved and he would be ok. His door was always open to family and friends to drop by and share a meal or glass of wine. He loved to talk on any subject, having such a vast knowledge of information. On important occasions, it was always the MacDonald's house that brought family and friends together to celebrate. There was always room made to accommodate everyone. Music, song, endless food and of course wine, and laughter went into the wee hours. He was aware of the needs of unfortunate people, giving generously, never wanting any recognition or thanks. Though he has now stepped into the next chapter of his life, he will always be with us here when we call out to him. Till we meet again, love you my dear Wayne.

Our sincere heart-felt condolences. Wayne's love of family, technology, music and the world around him was an inspiration. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and was a wealth of information. I have very fond memories of visiting Wayne and the family when young in Greenwood where he would always embrace us kids as his own and would share his latest tech-toys to our amazement. Later when Wayne and his family moved to Kentville, family gatherings became about love and music. I cherish the Christmas visits when the entire family would embrace together in music with voice and instruments. In Dartmouth, visits became about sharing travel adventures, the joys of kids/grandkids and simply enjoying life. Regardless of when, family was always top of the list for Wayne. His passing has left a hole in our hearts never to be filled. Much love from Peter & Krista Chaban.
