Obituaries

Dooks, Blair Alexander of Dartmouth passed away peacefully at the age of 83 on July 22, 2025. Born in Halifax and he was the son of the late George Gibson and Mary Odessa (Boutlier) Dooks.

He was a member of 615 Bluenose Air Cadet Squadron for 6 years and attained the rank of FLT/SGT and received his private pilot’s license in 1959. In May 1960 he joined the RCAF. He took basic training at St. Jean (Quebec). Then he served at Gimli (Man) Camp Borden (Ont) Edmonton (Alb) and Rivers (Man) where he eventually met the love of his life, Eleanor, whom he married in 1967.

Blair leaves to mourn his children; Carol (Cam) Phoenix Arizona, Robert Winnipeg, Mary Franklin (Larry) Winnipeg, James Winnipeg. He also leaves 4 grandchildren; Jarrett and Bret Dooks, Natasha and Tyler Franklin. Blair also leaves his sister Doris and his brother Donald. Blair also leaves several nephews and nieces. Blair also leaves his very special friends Colin and Theresa Horne and their family.

He is predeceased by his former wife Eleanor (Nee) Connon and his brother Dale.

Cremation has taken place. Blair has requested no service or flowers. Donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
