Obituary For Brian Acker

Brian Acker, Waverley, NS

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brian on March 24th, 2026 at the age of 79.

Brian was employed with the Halifax Fire Services retiring in 2011. He was a man of few words until you got to know him. Brian could build and fix anything that needed fixing. He loved spending time with his family and especially with his son Paul, working on the camp. His grandchildren Cameron and Dani meant the world to him.

He is survived by wife, Joyann (Blois); son, Paul; daughter in-law, Keely; grandchildren, Cameron and Dani. Sister, Donna Moore (Richard); Sister in-law, Claire Fancy. He was predeceased by his parents, Lewis and Marie (Jacklyn) Acker, as well as half siblings, Gene, Billy and Barbara.

As per his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service.

    Dear Joyann, Paul and family. Words just can't say how Peter, Kjell and I feel about Brian being gone. Joyann you and Brian have been in our lives since 1969. We spent so many happy times and Peter always said that Brian was the brother he never had. To Kjell he was Uncle Brian and still is today. Keeping you in our thoughts everyday. Love Peter, Kjell and Marilyn.

    Johanna, Paul, Keely, Cameron and Dani, my heart goes out to each of you❣️ A huge loss only you must feel. I have great memories of Brian when he visited our little Playgroup during Fire Prevention Week, in what is now the Waverley Museum. He would always come with Mike H. making sure Mike did the 'drop-roll' each time while he supervised! How we would chuckle quietly. He loved the children and it always showed. God rest his Soul! 🙏🏼
