Following retirement, he continued working in the auto industry with Manheim Auto Auctions, where he remained employed for many years.
A devoted and loving family man, Charles took immense pride in his children and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his cherished grandchildren: Cameron Blom, Hannah, Megan, and Keegan Richardson, Callum Corkum, Katie, Emily, Allie and Caleb Rutt. He is also survived by his siblings, Carole Gobeille, Laurence Rutt and Gloria Horton. Charles is also lovingly remembered by his longtime companion, Patricia and her children, Stephen and Lynn, who were like his own. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Charlene McFetridge.
Charles was very active in his community and church, serving on numerous committees and projects. A lifelong sports enthusiast, he remained active even after his playing days by coaching local community and high school teams. He also took an active role in the political process, serving as President of both Federal and Provincial ridings.
A proud member of the Masonic Lodge where he belonged to many different bodies, Charles valued the friendships and sense of community these organizations brought to his life. He will be remembered for his kindness, his quiet strength, and his unwavering dedication to family and community.
