Obituaries

With heavy hearts and profound sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Geraldine Audrey Myers, 81, of Head of Jeddore NS.
She passed away peacefully at the Dartmouth General Hospital on Friday September 22, 2023. Born in Sydney NS, daughter of the late Gerald Day and Viola(Cameron)Surette.

She worked for the Bank of Nova Scotia in her earlier years. She enjoyed and loved working in the field of personal homecare in the later years.

She loved the game of softball which she passed on to both her daughters. She enjoyed gardening, swimming, fishing, woodworking, and a good game of cards and the even better chance to holler “BINGO”. She was the average “Tom Boy” who could easily build a set of steps, or have her hand at interior decorating. Her favourite sport teams were the Toronto Blue Jays and the Toronto Maple Leafs. She loved traveling and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by brother, Ross Day(Janice), daughters Denise Myers and Cheri VanBuskirk. Grandchildren Shania, Dustin, Autumne, Jerimiah, Kiera, Tyson and Isaiah.
Great grandchildren Chase, Oliver, Jillian and Beau.

She was predeceased by husband Walter Myers, brother Dennis Day(Carole) and stepfather Peter Surette.

She resided with her loving partner and caregiver Ron Russell(Malay Falls), who was by her side always. He truly was a Blessing and a God sent.

A special thanks to the staff at the Emergency and 4th floor West Dartmouth General.

Church service and a Celebration of Life and Burial to take place Thursday September 28th 2023 11 am, at the Jeddore United Baptist Church, 8 West Jeddore Rd.
