Obituary For Gregory Neil Campbell
It is with deep sadness that we, the family announce the passing of Greg Campbell, age 76 of Glen Haven, on Monday January 19th, 2026.
Born in Halifax, Greg was the eldest son of the late Allan and Marie (Buchanan) Campbell. He is survived by his beloved wife (and debate partner) of 50 years, Barbara (Clarke); son Neil (Jaime); grandchildren Finn and Saylor; sisters Theresa (Dave), Kathy (Gary), and Anne (Alan); and many nieces and nephews.
Greg was a gifted storyteller with a sharp recall and a witty sense of humour, leaving us with many wonderful memories. He enjoyed meeting people and loved a good chat, which allowed him to make friends wherever he went. He loved the outdoors, saw beauty in the smallest details, and lived in the moment - part of his legacy is the lesson for us to do the same. Greg had a creative side and was a talented woodworker. He created and restored many beautiful pieces of furniture and took great pride in choosing the exact, perfect types of wood for each project. He excelled at photography and spent time practicing the guitar and oil painting.
Greg's career was spent at CTV, where he held positions behind the camera and behind the scenes. His favourite part of the job was the people he worked alongside. A close second was the annual Christmas Daddies Telethon.
Family was always Greg's priority, and his grandchildren were a highlight of his life. "Gramps" took every opportunity to support them and spent many hours watching dance recitals in a jampacked theatre, as well as freezing in cold hockey rinks across the HRM and beyond.
Greg was predeceased by his son Stephen; his parents Allan and Marie; and his brother Douglas.
There will be no visitation or service as per Greg's request to not make a fuss. The family will make arrangements to celebrate his life at a later date. Any donations may be made to Bridgeway Academy, 3 Valleyford Ave., Dartmouth, NS B2X 1W8 or via their website.
