It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Helene Janet Zwaan, age 74 of Lower Sackville, NS. She passed suddenly on May 20, 2025.

Helene was born in November, 1950 in Halifax to Gordon and Myrtle Warnell. Helene was an exuberant ball of life, full of love, support, and most important empathy. Helene was a storyteller, mostly at her or one of her sisters expense. Known as Auntie "Hene" to all her nieces and nephews.

Helene was a pillar of devotion to her church of the Nazarene in Dartmouth, serving on the board of elders there and organizing and planning numerous, extravagant Christmas plays.

Helene is survived by her sons Trevor, wife Casey and their sons Beckham and Cylar, Peter and fiancé Maria, Stephen, and wife Sarah and their children Thomas, Tessa and Scarlett. Sisters Marion, Diane, Betty, Patricia, Brenda and Teeny. Brothers Bub, Billy and Larry. If you know of this family, you know that there are many, many nieces and nephews, but she always would tell each and everyone of them, whenever she saw them, that he or she was her favorite.

Helene is predeceased by her husband Bill Zwaan, her parents Gordon and Myrtle, brothers Ricky, Herb and Doug and sister Rose.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Donald K Walker Funeral Director. Funeral service to be held Saturday May 31 at 11:00 am at the Evangel Pentecostal Church 1412 Cole Harbour Rd. Pastor Ralph G. Yarn, Senior Pastor of Dartmouth First Church of Nazarene and Pastor Colleen Johnson of Sackville First Church of Nazarene.

A reception will immediately follow the servic
