It is with heavy hearts that the family of Kyle share that he passed away peacefully at home on December 10, 2025. Kyle fought Duchenne muscular dystrophy with remarkable courage and quiet strength, inspiring all who knew him. His family finds comfort in knowing he is free from pain and at peace. He will be forever loved, deeply missed and never forgotten.
Born in Dartmouth, Kyle was the loved son of Janet Bartlett and Rodney Butt. He found so much joy in gaming and building Lego where he could be creative and fully himself. He shared a lifelong friendship with Patrick, whose presence brought Kyle comfort, laughter, and happiness over the years. Kyle will always be remembered for his quick, dry sense of humor, and the courage he carried throughout his life.
He leaves behind his sister Emily; his grandparents Jean Bartlett and Norman and Miriam Butt; and he is predeceased by his grandfather Frank Bartlett. He will also be fondly remembered by his aunts, uncles, and cousins, who were an important part of his life.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Denise, Evelyn, Shauna, and Caroline for their exceptional care, and to all of Kyle’s medical team—especially Dr. Seth Bloom—for their compassion and support. Special thanks as well to his godfather Donnie, who always brought him laughter, and to Steve for his friendship and the time he spent with Kyle.
Celebration of life to be held at a later date.

To be reading and writing this hurts. I wanted to come and see you today and knowing that I can't really hurts. I know it's an an unfair but needed pain as it means yours is gone . I know you've already modified your wings. Had them in the wind tunnel plucking feathers to get more speed. Probably have a new set of feathers on order to. How I'm going to miss you my beautiful friend. My heart and thoughts are with everyone. Steve

I remember the good times with Kyle. Before he was sick and diagnosed with Muscular Distroghy. His dad, Rod and I would have a lot fun doing father and son things together, just playingin the yard. Kyle loved life and ran like the wind. We were all crushed when Janet and Rod faced the reality of MD. I remember the many car shows we went to, many in Moncton. Kyle was in his own bliss just being able to see them. He even met Rich Evans here in Nova Scotia. Very exciting also for both Rod and I...... Rest In Peace Mr.Kyle Rodney Butt ....... there's always gonna be an empty spot in my heart. BILL BILNEY
