Obituary For Myrtle Grace Warren (Baker)
Warren (baker) Myrtle Grace 87 passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026. Born in Jeddore Nova Scotia she was the daughter of the late Aubrey and Grace (Mitchell) Baker
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Myrtle she was a woman with great strength compassion love and to quote from the many messages being received she was a kind, gentle, loving soul.
Mom came to the city in the late 50s and started a job at Mior’s chocolates and soon thereafter meet the love of her life Lawrence who she married in 1959. They soon started a family and she became a full-time homemaker.
Once Myrtle’s children were grown, she went back to work holding various jobs at empire theaters, Zellers, McDonald’s, Stadacona canteen dispatcher and driver for satellite taxi and finishing her career at McDougal group home where she enjoyed chatting with her clients and taking them on drives.
Mom’s hobbies included gardening scrapbooking, painting, long drives in the countryside and family history research spending many hours at the archives making sure she got all the details right. Mom also enjoyed a good laugh, playing cards with family and friends a house full of people for gatherings or just sitting around chatting. With mom fun was always had.
Mom‘s greatest joy was her family with each child grandchild great grandchild and great great grandchild. Her heart grew bigger and her love always shined through.
Mom is survived by her children Karen verge Sherri (Bob) polstra, Stephen (Patricia) Warren, and daughter-in-law Kay Warren. Her sister Gladys Faulkner (Dave surette) and sister-in-law Audrey Baker both of west jeddore She is also survived by six grandchildren Bradley verge, Matthew (Shayla) Verge, Kees and Ben Polstra, Brittany (Alex) Hart and Michael Warren. She also has four step grandchildren Susan and Barbara seaboyer, Kristin and RJ whitenect. Also four great grandchildren, Brianna and Mattie-shea verge, Harley and Remi Hart, six great step grandchildren Tyler McIsaac-verge, Aidan Berriman-Ellis, Logan seaboyer, Gavin and Brooklyn Porter and Maya Borden. One great great step grandchild Lihanna Berriman.
As much as we may be grieving, know this, there is a great joyous reunion also happening besides her parents grace and Aubrey Baker waiting to greet her at heavens gate is her husband of 61 years Lawrence, her son Lonnie and son Laurie and daughter kathern in infancy, grandson Craig verge, her brother’s Harris, Ervin, Ernest, Theodore and Roy And her sisters, Mary Hooley, Eunice Baker and Irene in infancy.
We would like to thank the staff of 7.2 at the Halifax infirmary Hospital for their care and compassion that was given to mom and also a big thank you to her girls from northwood for the excellent home care she received.
Service will be held on January 17, 2026 2PM at vineyard family ministry centre 1129 sackville drive Middle Sackville Nova Scotia. Burial will be held at a later date. Donations can be made to Autism Nova Scotia.
As we grieve Mom know that we were thankful that she was there for our first breath and that we were blessed to be with her as she took the last.
