Obituary For Noreen Stevens

We are very sad to announce the passing of Noreen Stevens of Lower Sackville on February 15, 2026 at the VG site, QEII hospital at the age of 77.

Born in Halifax, Noreen was the daughter of the late Harold and Kay Ryan. Noreen was one of six children who grew up in a very loving home. After finishing school, Noreen became a hairstylist and worked at Aurora Style Centre in Halifax where she retired and focused on her home life. She loved family trips to the U.S., especially Tennessee, going to the Casino and Christmastime. Her home was known to have the most decorated rec room at Christmas with many families visiting to enjoy the sights and sounds.

In 2009, Noreen became a grandma to her beloved granddaughter Zoe. Noreen adored Zoe and being her only grandchild, Zoe meant the world to her. If you knew Noreen, you know she didn't have time for foolishness and spoke her mind which made her such a character.

She was predeceased by her husband Ken, brother Gerry and sisters Judy (Ivan) and Kim (Kevin). Noreen is survived by her daughter Michelle (Stephen), brothers David (Cheryl) and Mark (Gina).

Cremation has taken place at Donald K. Walker Funeral Directors.

As per Noreen's wishes, there will be no funeral service. There will be a private service with family at a later date.

Family would like to thank the staff at St Vincent's Nursing home where Noreen spent the last few months. They took great care of Noreen and she loved living there.

Donations can be made in Noreen's name to the Arthritis Society of Canada.

Michelle, Steve and Zoe I was so deeply saddened to hear of the passing of your mother. Please know that you are in my thoughts and heart during this difficult time. One of the things I've always admired is the beautiful Christmas decorations you put up each year. There is so much warmth and love in every detail, and now I understand even more where that magic comes from it's a true celebration of Noreen and the joy she brought into your lives. That tradition is such a wonderful tribute, and it's something that will carry her spirit forward every holiday season. May you find comfort in those cherished memories and in the love that surrounds you. Wishing you peace and healing in the days ahead. With deepest sympathy, Dee xo
