It is with heavy heart that we announce the death of Tom Edward Burke who passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on September 20 2025, after a life filled with love, laughter and adventure.

Tom was predeceased by his father William Burke, and brothers, Billy and Kevin.

Tom is survived by his devoted wife Carol Burke(Todd), sons Jason (Katie) and Jeffery (Brandi) and his cherished granddaughters, Josie (Nathan) and Hannah and Kayla. He was blessed with the greatest joy of being a great grandfather to Jace Nima who quickly became the light in his final years. He is also survived be his sister Laura Talbot(Ken),Julia Burke (Patrick) and brother Shawn Burke(Wanda).

Tom's work life was varied and dedicated. He worked at Micmac Agencies and City of Halifax. He went on to have a long career as a taxi driver. He worked for Armdale and Casino Taxi where he eventually retired. He enjoyed chatting with the customers and was sure to get you where you were going with a smile.

A man with a big heart, Tom adored his pets and had a deep love for animals of all kinds. He was happy with a cold Keiths Beer in hand and watching the news. He also enjoyed boating around Halifax harbor. He also travelled to many destination with his wife Carol such as Cuba, Spain, Ireland, Hawaii, Dominican Republic, the United States and across Canada.

Tom will be remembered for his kindness, his humor and unwavering love for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, adventure and stories that will be told for generations.

Cremation has taken place and burial will be held at a later undermined date.
