Obituary For Dennis Kane

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our brother Dennis (Denny) Hilary Kane at the age of 70 years in Halifax, Nova Scotia on May 2, 2023.

Denny was born and raised in Halifax and was the youngest son of the late Michael and Laura (MacDonald) Kane. He worked for a number of years as a groundskeeper for the Sisters of Charity at the Sacred Heart Convent and was also employed as an animal control officer with the SPCA.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Thomas Kane and sister, Geraldine Weltz. Denny is survived by his sisters, Sandra Perrodou, Marilyn (Art Healey) Michelle Kane and brother-in-law Stan Weltz. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews who he was very proud of and close to.

Cremation has taken place. Graveside service and interment will be held at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Lower Sackville, NS, on Friday, May 19, 2023, at 2:00 p.m.

    When I was a little girl, Denny lived next door in the basement apartment of my Grandparent's house. He was always kind to me, and he had a big cat I used to love to pet! Denny bought me an easy bake oven which I adored. Although I did not see him often over the past many years, he will always hold a place in my heart.
