Obituary For Kenneth Charles Fletcher

Kenneth (Ken) Charles Fletcher. Passed away peacefully surrounded by family in the ICU at the Victoria General Hospital on Wednesday June 23,2021 at the age of 51. Ken remained positive despite a 4 year battle with IPF and a recent diagnosis of Leukemia.

Born in 1970, Ken was the son of the late Harold and Mary Fletcher (nee Dunbar). Because of his gift of gab, he was a natural salesman; from being an auctioneer, to an avid yard-saler, and owning store fronts across the province. Ken travelled all over the countryside to sell anything from vegetables to antiques.

Ken's love of nature was apparent to all. Bird watching and gardening were among his favourite pastimes. His true passions were exploring Nova Scotia and PEI with Marnie to see the beautiful sights and searching for special treasures.

Besides his parents Ken was predeceased by his brother Hal. He is survived by his loving partner, his Princess, Marnie (McNally); children: Brandon, and Shantell; step children: Brianne Hodder, Bradley McNally and the love of his life, his grandson Buck. Ken is also survived by the mother of his children Tammy (Ettinger), Step Mother Bev Fletcher and siblings: Barry (Wendy), Helen (Dewar), Bruce (Denise), Kirk (Susan); sister in-law: Vicki (Hal), as well as a large extended family.

Cremation has taken place and upon Ken's request there is no service being held.

Memorial donations can be made to The Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or The Canadian Cancer Society.

The family wishes to extend a special thank-you to the Nurses and Doctors of 8a and the ICU for their care and compassion.

As Kenneth's grade 4 teacher at Brooklyn Elementary I was saddened to read of his illness and passing. I can still see him sitting in class - a good, little student, a friend to all his classmates, and a sweet smile. I haven't seen Kenneth since he left elementary school but I can see from his lovely obituary and tributes from friends and colleagues that those same traits remained with him through life. My condolences to his family and friends. Cathy Ross

Words cannot describe the beautiful soul he was here on earth. I pray he is in the arms of god and pain free. May god's angels wrap their arms around Marnie and Edith to give them strength. He will be missed.
