Obituary For Michael Stacey McIntyre
It is with great sadness that the family of Michael (Mike) McIntyre of Lake Echo, Nova Scotia announces his passing on Friday, June 17,2022 at the age off 66 years old. He passed peacefully at home surrounded by his wife and family. Michael leaves behind his beloved wife of 28 years, Debbie (Hood) McIntyre, his sister Melody (Bruce) Bayne, his twin brother Mitchell (Debra Johns) McIntyre, daughters Lisa (Kristian) Kaizer and Renee McIntyre, stepchildren Brian D’Arcy, Chris (Tanya) D’Arcy, Sonya (Dave Barlow) D’Arcy, nieces and nephews Taylor McIntyre, Quinn McIntyre, Courtney Bayne, Duncan Bayne, four grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, a great- grandson and many cousins. Michael was predeceased by his parents Duncan and Lorraine (Garand) McIntyre and his older brother Murray McIntyre.
Mike worked as a bus operator for Halifax transit for 26 years. He loved motorcycles and going on rides with his many bike buddies. Mike had a passion for cars, his favorite being the Mini-Minor, and he was skilled at repairing motors and small engines. He liked camping and boating and wanted to get a trailer to travel in his retirement. In his spare time over the years, he enjoyed playing his guitar for friends and family although he was known to never finish a song- one of his many idiosyncrasies! Mike had a quick wit, a unique sense of humour, and was known for his one-liners that would reduce everyone to tears of laughter. He always had the last word, especially with his twin brother Mitch with his signature goodbye after every conversation –“Love your nuts!” . He was tickled by the fact that he and his twin both married Debbie’s and frequently referred to them as “the Double D’s”. Most of all, he adored his wife Debbie, who shared so much of his life in the past 30 years, and worried about her until the end. His two daughters, Lisa and Renee, were always on his mind. Michael leaves his family and friends with many memories and lots of laughs. He lived life simply, on his own terms and was a good soul with a good heart. He will be forever and fondly remembered.
A celebration of Mike’s life will be arranged by the family at a future date. Those who wish to donate in Michael’s memory can contribute to the Children’s Wish Foundation (https://makeawish.ca/donate) or the IWK Foundation (https;//iwkfoundation.org/donate).
