Obituary For Patricia M Joyce

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness we announce the passing of our sister Patricia on August 30, 2021 in the Halifax Hospice with at the age of 68. Born in Halifax, N.S. she was the oldest daughter of the late Laughlin and Carol (Coolen) Joyce. She will be sadly missed by her brother Richard (Janice), Dartmouth; sister Anne, Halifax; Carolyn (Emile), Airdrie, Alberta; Peggy Halifax; and Heather Halifax. A special thank you to Janice, as Patricia was grateful for all her support over the years. Also nephews Adam (Lianna) and Matthew, both Dartmouth and nieces Madelyn and Alannah, both of Calgary, Alberta, special friends Cynthia and Wayne and the Murphy ‘kids’. Patricia was a people person who loved to chat and could strike up a conversation with anyone. She loved animals and small children but never stopped loving her nieces and nephews after they grew up. Family was very important to Patricia and always was up for getting together with family for special meals, but the family picnics at Grave’s Island were among her best and most talked about family events. Above all Patricia was a fighter and would stick to her guns when she believed in something or someone. She firmly believed she would beat cancer for the third time but God had other plans for her. With her family by her side, Patricia left us peacefully, to join Mom and Dad.

Funeral Mass with be held at St. Catherine of Siena September 8, 2021 at 10 am. As per Covid restrictions seating is limited. Please call 902-499-6773 to register. Due to Covid restrictions there will be no reception afterwards.

To the Joyce siblings: Over the many years participating at St Catherine of Siena masses and other fun parish events, like Pat's favourite, "BINGO" and the annual Spring parish fair we have seen Pat's kindness and the warmth of her smile. We offered up this Sunday's mass for her and prayed for you all, that your treasured sweet memories of your sister bring some comfort during this challenging and difficult period. As people rooted in deep faith we are greatly comforted that Pat is now free of all earthly pain and her soul is gently resting in Heaven joined again with your wonderful Mom & Dad. May our genuine prayers for strength and peace help comfort each of you. Mrs (Rita) Brousseau - formerly of Roslyn Rd Betty Brousseau-Browne and Peter Browne
