Obituary For Theodore "Ted" Hering

Hering, Theodore “Ted” age 79, passed away peacefully at Dartmouth General Hospital on August 19 2021. Born in Omaha Nebraska in 1942. As a young man Ted joined the US Airforce and went on to fight in the Vietnam War. After leaving the military, Ted emigrated to Canada. Making his home in Halifax, soon after arriving he started working for the Halifax Water Commission. Where he worked at for over 20 years, at the end of which he had a well deserved retirement. Ted was a quiet and independent man who liked nothing better than to hang out with his friends and family. And a special mention is warranted for his friends and staff at the Highfield Tim Hortons where he liked to spend a lot of his time.
He was predeceased by his father Theodore, and his mother Wilma, Brother John and son Gordon. He will be fondly remembered by his Daughter Sandra, and Shelly (Daniel), Grand – Children Alicia ( Gerard), Kelsey (Mitch), Great-Grandson Silas, Brother Rich(Patty), Nephew Todd, Niece Lori, and former wife Anastasia. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Dartmouth General Hospital, who took such good care of him while he was there. A celebration of life will take place at a later date
