Obituary For Abraham Chanda Mulolani

75 - Abraham Chanda Mulolani of Timberlea, Nova Scotia passed away peacefully at Victoria General Hospital surrounded by family on August 30, 2025.

He was born in Zambia and the son of the late Patrick and Chikutwe (Mucheleka) Mulolani. He graduated from Lakehead University, Thunder Bay, Ontario with a degree in Forestry. Abraham was a dedicated employee at the QEII Hospital before his retirement. He was predeceased by brothers Patrick, Matthew, Isaac, Elias and sister Agatha. Abraham hails from a rich legacy, his great grandfather was known as Chief Mucheleka.

Abraham was many things to many people: He is survived by his sons Jonathan Chanda (Halifax) and Joel Chewe (Halifax), past husband and friend to Lorna Crawley (Halifax), little brother to Raphael (Zambia). He was a treasured brother-in-law to Wanda (Alvin), Cheryl, and Mark (Lo) (Halifax/Dartmouth), an uncle to Isaac (Cathy) (Winnipeg) and several other nieces and nephews in Zambia and Canada, God daughter Klorizzea (Fred) (Bermuda), friend and fishing buddy Graham (Beechville ) special neighbour friend, Louise (Timberlea) and many friends who will miss him dearly.

He was a fisherman through and through, happiest with a line in the water and the promise of a good catch—or at least a good story to tell about the one that got away. On dry land, Abraham was the go-to handyman, ready with his tools and his know-how, if something was broken, he’d fix it.

Abraham had a way of making people feel welcome. Whether over a cup of tea, a fishing trip, a game with Lorna and his sons or a quick repair at your house, his warmth filled the room. He lived with generosity, wit, and just the right touch of stubbornness.

He leaves behind countless memories—of laughter, kindness and fish tales told just a little bigger each year. His family and friends will carry those with them, always.

A celebration of Abraham’s life will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025 at Beechville Baptist Church, 1135 St. Margaret’s Bay Rd, Beechville, NS. Visitation will be 10 am, followed by a service at 11 am officiated by Rev. Lloyd Grant. Cremation has taken place. No repast.

To Abraham's loving family, I express to you my deepest sympathy in the passing of your dad, your former husband and friend, your brother in law, uncle, cousin. Abraham was indeed so much to so many people. Although I have not seen Abraham in many years, I recall his friendly manner and our conversations. I know Jonathan and Joel how your dad did love you so! He was proud of his sons. He rests now in sweet peace. No more sickness no more pain. May you All sense the comfort of our Saviour at this difficult time. Take special care Lorna, Lovingly, Family friend Melinda Daye

To my dear friend Deacon-elect Lorna, Jonathan, and Joel: I extend my deepest condolences to you. Though I did not know Abraham, I know how much he meant to you all. Jesus promises in Matthew 5:4 that all who mourn will be comforted. And not only that, Revelation 21:4 tells us that the day will come when sickness and dying will be no more and God will dry every tear. May you find comfort in these truths. I pray that Abraham is resting in God's eternal peace and that your memories will strengthen your hearts and help turn your sorrow into joy. In sincere sympathy, Dr. Rhonda Y. Britton North Carolina, USA
