Obituary For Audrey Joan Ann Bernadette Cyr

Audrey Joan Ann Bernadette Cyr (Jojo), 83, born in halifax in October of 1942 to the late Jewell (Dobbin) Anderson and Charles Anderson.

It is with profound sadness and many broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend.

She passed away peacefully on October 3rd, 2026 surrounded by loved ones.

Jojo was the kindest soul and most giving person, who cherished her family deeply. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life and she was always there when you needed her.

Jojo, who we also know as "Bingo Jo" was the bingo queen. She had a passion for playing bingo, which in her early days never missed a night of bingo.

When she wasn't playing bingo, she was gathered at the kitchen table playing cards for cash and loved to play skipbo all while laughing, singing and enjoying the company of her family and friends.

She loved to dance and sing along to Dolly Parton and Patsy Cline to name two of her favourites. She also loved to play the Nintendo 64, Mario Kart, and Donkey Kong. You often had to beg her to let you get a turn. She also enjoyed watching game shows during her free time.

Beyond all the fun and laughter, Jojo spent many years caring for the elderly in private care and nursing homes, reflecting the compassion and kindness that were such a natural part of who she was.

Jojo was predeceased by her husband Alfred (Fred) Cyr, and her many siblings.

She is proudly survived by her two daughters Charlene Simmonds, Toronto, and Patricia Beals (Nelson), Halifax. Her 8 grand children, 12 great grand children and 2 great great grandchildren.

We are sad to see her go but smile in gratitude knowing she is at peace.

    I haven't seen Jojo for many years but we certainly enjoyed our chats on Messenger and I loved seeing her posts of her beautiful family on Facebook. We raised our babies on the same street for a few years and became friends. Rest in peace Jojo. Hugs from Dawn
