Obituary For Susan Marie Babin

Susan Marie Babin
October 7th, 2026

With sadness, we announce the passing of Susan, at the age of 70. A beloved Wife, Sister, Niece, Cousin, Mother, and Grammie.

Susan (Mom) loved a good novel, almost any kind of needle-craft, the odd glass of Crown Royal, and a good game of Yahtzee.

She raised two young boys into men, despite the road being not always the smoothest. She had both a fierce pride and loyalty that she passed onto us.

She was a worker her whole life. Raised on her family's farm, the work ethic she gained there kept her working to ensure her kids had what they needed, even after she met the man who would be with her to the last, Wayne. This same work ethic would also get passed onto her children. She worked at an art gallery, an engineering firm, Moirs Chocolates and in customer service. A varied career, for sure.

She always made the holidays something special. Even when it got harder to do, her fierce determination would not let Christmas dinner go by, and it was always magical! She tried to make sure that a gift wasn't "just something" but that it MEANT something. No matter who it was she tried to give that person something for them!

She loved Dad right to the end, standing by Dad through any struggle. Never giving in to despair when things looked roughest.

She was blessed with 2 sons Leo and Clint, and 5 amazing grandchildren: Damian, Grace and Jonathan (Leo) and Madison and Jacob (Clint). And as fiercely as she loved us, her sons, she cherished her grandchildren.

She was the oldest of 5: sisters Cathy and Nancy, and brothers Jeff and David. She will be missed by all of them and their families!

She has 2 remaining aunts as well, Grace and Joan. Who will miss her greatly!

She will be laid to rest in Amherst in the Spring time of 2027, where she loved it best, her childhood home, the family farm. We will gather to say our final goodbyes. I know Grammie Coates and Grammie D are waiting, with the dice ready, Mom.

We will love and miss you. Always.
