Obituaries

On August 14, 2026 Olga Anne Purcell (Yurichuk) of Halifax passed away peacefully at the age of 92 with her loving daughter Cindy and granddaughter Drew by her side.

Olga was predeceased by her loving parents George and Maria Yurichuck of Montreal, and brother Gerard Yurichuck of Montreal. Olga is survived by her loving daughter Cynthia Morgan of Halifax. and grandchildren Jake and Drew Morgan of Halifax and Meadow Marcelli of Halifax.

Olga was born in St. Lin Quebec in September 1933. Her parents had both immigrated from Ukraine. Olga worked at Simpons for many years before the birth of her daughter Cindy. Olga was known for her sense of humour and her pleasant nature. And above all she was known as a survivor. A very tough cookie. In her earlier years she loved to play bingo, socialize with friends and walk until she could no longer walk. She was a lover of animals and children. Her granddaughter Drew had a very special bond with her and will be so greatly missed.

Olga's wishes were to stay at home until her passing and was able to do so with help and support of the VON, Northwood Care Givers and her family.

Olga will be laid to rest on Friday September 4th at 3:30 pm at the cimetiere Notre-Dame-Des-Neiges in Montreal, Quebec where her parents, brother and family rest.
