Obituary For Sarah Danielle Fisher

Sarah Danielle Fisher

She was born in New Glasgow to proud parents Bob and Leslie Carroll. A little sister to big brother Ayron and sister Jen. Her constant smile and joyful nature earned her the nickname Perma-grin.

Throughout her childhood she loved sports, baking, music and performing. She developed a lifelong passion for running, participating in marathons and constantly pushing herself to excel. It was during this time she met the love of her life, Ryan . Together they shared an uncommon devotion to each other. Their love of nature meant they could be found enjoying boating, hiking, fishing, stargazing by a campfire and more recently working on a getaway camp in West Branch. She attained her masters in education and found her place in the school board as a well respected Autism specialist. She cared deeply for her students and colleagues.

Her most proud accomplishment came with the birth of her two beautiful sons, James and Evan. No children were ever loved more. Anyone who knew Sarah, knew of her compassion and selfless giving nature. Always the first to lend a helping hand, her generosity of spirit was felt by many. Though she is gone from this earth, she will live on in her children, husband and all of us who loved her unconditionally .

Any donations can be made to Hope for Wildlife or an animal rescue centre would be appreciated, a cause Sarah cared deeply about.

A celebration of her life will take place on Sunday Dec. 7 at Oakfield Golf and Country club, 6055 Highway#2 Oakfield N.S. from 11:00-2:00. Service to begin at 12:00.

Sarah and I have worked close together for several years. We had many fun times both at work and socially. One of my favourite memories of Sarah was when we shared time during a girls weekend trip in November of 2021. She was in awe of the nature around us, explored the lake in a kayak, and did a cold plunge in the near frozen lake while the rest of us watched in awe with blankets wrapped around us. Her passing is such a devastating loss to our community and to our schools. Sarah was both a great friend and colleague. She was selfless, kind, genuine, smart, dedicated, efficient, and honest. She always put her student's needs first and delivered support promptly. Sarah was always able to make the best out of a difficult situation. Anytime someone was going through hard times, she was always the first one to suggest how we could help. She will be greatly missed. As one of our principals put it, "she was one of the good ones." Sarah, you were one of the good ones. One of the best ones. I will miss you so very much and I will make sure your legacy lives on through my work and the work of our team. I will miss you so much. My thoughts are with Sarah's family, friends, co-workers, and our community as a whole.

Sarah and I were working closely this Fall and began to develop a relationship full of mutual respect as she went over and above. She was generous, honest and forthright. At a time when I felt like I had no idea what I was doing, she surprised me with an email (unsolicited) providing such words of support. That was so meaningful to me. She will truly be missed by our team and her students. My condolences to all her friends and family.

I first met Sarah in Maine as we completed our B.Ed together. I remember most her smile and laugh as we both endured a late night class together. We later met again in our teaching careers. She loved learning and loved her boys. Thinking of her family and all of those close to her. Jayme whyte

I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Sarah. I had the privilege of hiring her in 2014, and even then it was clear she carried a gift that lifted everyone around her. Her positive energy, her joy in working with children, and her genuine care for colleagues made her a remarkable learning centre and classroom teacher and a truly special person. Since then, she has brought warmth, humour, and heart into every school community she has touched. My thoughts are with her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to work alongside her. My heart is aching for my dear friend Sarah. We spent many many days together on the beach letting our boys run wild and free. She was a bright light, generous, and easy to be with. She was always there to lend a hand and was so special to my family. Even in days I didn't feel like having people around her and her family were always welcome, I never felt I had to entertain while she was around they would just show up and be part of the chaos. I realized In the past few days we don't have pictures together because we were too busy living in the moment and absorbing it all in real time❤️ ❤️❤️ Until we meet again my friend. I know you will watch over your boys from above. I'll be down here doing the same
