Obituaries

It is with broken hearts we announce the death of our mother, Susan Livingstone, 67, of Dartmouth NS. She passed away lovingly surrounded by her kids at the Dartmouth General Hospital on April 13 2026. Born in Saint John NB, she was the daughter of the late Ewen and Doreen Livingstone. She was a force to be reckoned with, and whether you were family, friend or stranger, if you had a problem you would want Mom in your corner.

Mom took pride in every aspect of her life. She was always dressed in the nicest outfits, drove fancy cars, and was known to never leave the house without her hair and makeup done, even if it was just a trip to her beloved Costco.

She was a caring and compassionate nurse, a career she loved. If you were lucky enough to be her patient, you could be certain that not only would you receive the best of care, you would also have a passionate advocate by your side who made sure your wishes were met. She loved her co-workers and shared many funny work stories with her family.

Affectionately known as "Nana Sue", Mom's proudest accomplishment was her kids and grandkids. She loved sharing them on social media with the world through pictures and stories. She was happiest when the whole family came together at her house, whether it be for a holiday, birthday, or even just a summer afternoon BBQ. She was an incredible cook and kept Steve, her kids, and grandkids well fed for many years. When you visited Mom, you knew you were leaving with a full belly and a full heart, and some funny stories to laugh about for years to come.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Steven. Suey, as he called her , was a loving and devoted wife to Steve for over 20 years and together they built a life and love that most will never have the opportunity to experience.

Her memory will also be cherished by her children, Troy (Charmain), Jeremy, Marlee (Daniel Sr.), Holly (Dwayne), and Jody (Heather), and grandchildren Carmine, Daniel Jr, Jackson, Trayton, Taizanah, Keehan, Jaelyn, Sawyer, Kayza and Sienna, furbabies Lilly, Teddy and Cali, as well as her close friend of many years, Billie Young.

In keeping with her wishes, we will be having a celebration of life BBQ on Saturday May 9th, at the Austenville Owl's Club, 34 Oakdale Crescent in Dartmouth NS from 1pm-5pm. Please join us while we share some good food, memories and laughs just like Mom would have wanted.
