The family of Marilyn Sampson (Muise) announce her death on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 after a lengthy and courageous battle with illness. She was predeceased by her parents, Myrtle (Brooks) and James Muise, and brother Stephen Muise. Marilyn is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Fred and sons Freddy (Melinda) Sampson, Alberta, and Kris at home; sisters Shirley (John) Coolen,Shad Bay, Gayle (Calvin) Scallion, Kentville, Glenna Beauregard (Kevin), Dartmouth; brother Jimmy Muise, Halifax; nieces and nephews Lisa, Mary-Ann, Nancy, Jennifer, Gregory, Jillian, Brooke, Jamie, Kendra, Cara and Alexander.

Marilyn was willing to tackle any task that was sent her way. Later she worked at the dental office at Stadacona Base and spent several years with Nova Dental as a receptionist. In addition, Marilyn displayed her entrepreneurial skills when she opened the first registered day care center in Sackville and later operated Meals on Wheels, run out of the Sackville Legion.

Always ready to invite friends or family in for a home cooked meal, take part in a practical joke, or just sit and chat, she will be fondly remembered by all who knew her well. Marilyn also didn’t hesitate to show kindness to her favorite dog who was always at the ready for a few treats.

Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Halifax Infirmary. No visitation by family request. Cremation has taken place.

Funeral mass will be held at St. John Vianney Church, 4 Beaver Bank Rd., Lower Sackville at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 24. A private, family reception will follow.
