Obituary For Allan Wayne Levy

Allan Wayne Levy, age 74, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2026, at the Halifax Infirmary, QEII Health Sciences Centre, with his beloved brother Robert by his side.

​Born in Halifax in February 1952, Allan was a gentle soul known for his warmth and infectious laughter. In his younger years, Allan was an avid cyclist who loved exploring Nova Scotia on two wheels—you could find him riding in almost any corner of the province at any given time. He also had a deep passion for music, becoming a true music historian with a rich and specialized knowledge of the 50s and 60s era.

​As the years went on, Allan developed a deep, meaningful connection with God. He was an active member of various churches and Bible study groups, finding great comfort and fellowship in his faith. Outside of his church community, Allan was a quiet, reflective man who cherished simple pleasures—quiet nature walks and scenic car drives with his brother Robert through the Annapolis Valley and over to Prince Edward Island.

​Allan is survived by his brothers, Russell, Gordon, and Robert, and his sisters, Bernice and Geraldine. He was predeceased by his mother, Alice; his adoptive father, Gordon Francis; his biological father, Russell Levy Sr.; his brother, Arthur; and his sister, Lois.

​Allan’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the care teams who supported him in his final journey—the staff at West Bedford Transitional Health for their compassionate care during his brief stay, and the dedicated staff at Shannex’s Moody Hall, who truly went above and beyond to welcome Allan and make him feel at home.

​In memory of Allan, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia (or Canada) to support dementia research and care.

    I'd love to share on memory of Allan tirelessly fascinated with trains. It was one fond memory he had , he loved them on video and in person. He had a keen ear of hearing them off in a distance, he'd be right there to watch it go by right to the last sound off in the distance. Another memory was he was an avid phone book reader. I swear he had that book memorized off by heart. ❤️ Anyone who knew him always stopped off and asked him for a number and he knew it without a second guess.love you big brother .
