Obituary For Rico John Buck

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Rico John Buck, son of John Buck (deceased) and Juanita Martin (deceased) announces his passing away suddenly at home on August 10th, 2021. Rico is survived by his loving Wife Danielle Buck (Née Rail) as well as his Children Natasha (Dwayne) Morrisey, his son Corey Buck as well as his Grandchildren ( Brayden, Maddy & Ethan). Rico is also survived by his Brother Bob( Pat) Burton, and his sister Heather (Bill) Slade as well as many young people who had the privilege of calling him “dad”. He also has an estranged son called John. Rico was a man with a big heart. Born in Montreal in August 1962, he moved to Gaspé, Québec in 1985 to help his mother build a house with her new husband. That was where he would eventually meet the love of his life Danielle during a pool game. The rest is history. 1 year later, Rico & Danielle came to Halifax on vacation and never went back to Gaspé because Halifax felt more like ‘home’. Rico and Danielle got married in 1990. When his 2 children were born (Natasha & Corey), he was elated and completely in love with them. He was also devastated when he lost a 3rd child before it was born. What most people don’t know, is that he loved playing drums and was looking forward to teaching his grandson Brayden how to play when he was a little older. He Loved camping, playing games on his PS4 and he loved laughing at videos he would find on You Tube. He was an amazing cook and was always willing to help out a friend when he could and he would open arm receive people who temporarily needed shelter. His favorite years were when the family could go camping and many times, we would extend our stay because we were having so much fun. He was also an accomplished cook ! People loved his cooking, especially when he made Club House sandwiches, fried chicken and pogos. He sometimes created recipes and would surprise his wife with different types of food mixtures. He would always go out of his way to make everyone else happy. He always liked to spend time out in his shed working on new projects he came up with and loved to work with wood. He could make anything he put his heart and mind into. His favorite thing to do was spend time with his family. Rico was a big family man and cherished every moment he could spend with family. One of his favorite things to do was spend time with his Grandson (Brayden). Rico was a shy person but around family and friends, he could easily make you laugh and was a constant tease. It is also worthy mentioning that he treated his wife Danielle like a queen and children were his prince & princess. The hole he is leaving behind will be difficult to fill and the devastation of his leaving will be a devastation felt throughout the rest of our lives, but we know he is now playing darts and games with his friend Bill who pre-deceased him in 2008 and his mother in law as well as father in law who passed away in 2019. We shall miss you so much Rico… We are so glad you were such an integral part of all our lives and the rock and glue that kept our family strong. You will be sorely missed.

Danny,Natasha and Corey our hearts are broken for you. We last spoke to Rico on Aug 2 his birthday, but every time I would chat with him he would always tell me what each member of the family was doing including his special little buddy his grandson. His family was his whole world, he loved you all very much, he was a family man. The last words I said to him after giving him a big hug at the airport was "Ok bud, take care". Ok Bud take care Love brother Bob and Pat

Those we love are never gone, They have just temporarily moved on. Those we have loved or lost have not gone away, They continue to watch over us everyday, They are unheard and unseen, But they are always near, Walking beside us and always very dear. It may be hard today to see past your sorrows, But the goddess is always there, To comfort you through all your tomorrows.

My deepest condolences to the family. It isn't easy losing someone so kind so quick but he is never gone. He lives within each and everyone that has met him. I hope you all find some comfort in knowing how much we all loved him. RIP Rico
